mango magic

i was so lucky to come across a brand new in the packaging mango splitter/cutter at the second hand shop the other day.  and ... it works perfectly.  sometimes you get a super bargain.  the price - a whopping  fifty cents. :)

excited much?

yes i am.  judith muller.  israel.  hand painted glass.  i have about six or seven original bottles of her perfume from the 60s.  with perfume no less.  the bottles are individual works of art. her perfumes are exotic and rich.  i found a vase today for $4.00.  gorgeous.  and just the right size for a little posy.

shoes

very special shoes indeed.  fabulous green with a bit of shimmer.  half price too.  i probably won't wear them much but i couldn't resist them.  i suppose i can wear them as slippers.  :)  

i also bought the floral pair last week.  same applies to these, i probably won't wear them much.  my problem is that i wear orthotics and i'm a bit limited as to what shoes i can wear.  boring shoes, sneakers and, of course, my crocs.  i have many pair of crocs.  you can tell me they are the ugliest shoes on earth and i won't argue with you, but, have you ever worn them?  comfortable with a capital c.  ugly yes.  comfy yes.  i actually need a new pair. i have lots of styles but the orginals are the best comfort wise.  now for a pic of my new fabulouso shoes.

this is the swim suit i bought last night for $7.00 in target whilst looking for christmas wrapping paper.  bargain  

purple suitcase

i have a really specky new suitcase but it's heavy.  my old suitcase is way past throwing out.  it's in dreadful condition.  i took it away this year but it won't make another trip.  but then i say that every year.  imagine my delight when i came across this gorgeous purple suitcase on super special.  $20.00  i couldn't believe it. nothing wrong with it either.  i also noticed when i booked tickets this year that virgin blue now charge $30.00 each way for luggage.  that's $120.00 for both of us (sister and me).  outrageous.   

a touch of china

five very specky chinese cups probably from a set of six.  quite small.  no saucers to go with them.  i'm thinking of using them as tea light holders or just for tea or baileys.  ok, might need two or three if used as a tea cup.  and baileys too come to think of it.  in the bottom of each cup is a raised outline of a goddess face which doesn't show on the underneath.  they are made of a quite fine and delicate porcelain and have gold handles and highlights.  gorgeous and a bargain at $4.00

ps these look amazing with a tealight candle burning inside.  quite nice

some more bargains

i've wanted one of these for ages.  this year i bought one.  about $6 i think.  only problem was one of the legs broke on the way home even though i had it inside two helmets.  i should have put it in my hand luggage.  i mended it the other day, you can see the glue on the nearest leg. it's a little grill for cooking satay btw

a bargain. 30000rp in fact. it's beautifully textured and i find it peaceful and calm. i like it :)

it was a bargain. 200000rp in fact. i spent all of my money on it and had to walk back to the motorbike about two kms away. a very pleasant walk non the less even if it was hot and i couldn't afford a bottle of water. a bloke offered me a free ride to the atm machine but i didn't even have my card with me. it was worth it though :)

kentia palm and happy plant

ten dollars each. a friend of my son who gets ex office plants. they are quite large and very healthy. need to be kept under shade cloth or inside. they should be ok on the veranda. a bargain.

and he's a candle holder. i know he's probably not everyone's cup of tea but i love him. i forget how much he was but it was indeed a bargain.

a shower hold all

this doesn't look like much but at $2.50 it was a bargain and it's super useful. as you can see it goes over the shower and holds shampoo etc etc. the old one was getting really grotty and a bit rusty. this one is great

a new baileys cup

it's a demitasse which is basically a small cup for espresso. i like a big cup for coffee so i'm going to use it for baileys but i might have to have two coz the ice will take up a lot of room. lol. it was indeed a bargain. fifty cents from a garage sale this morning. it's hand made and has the artists signature underneath. i like it.

a bali painting

this is a painting from bali. i always buy one and sometimes even lose them. lol. it was Rp 75.000 which works out to roughly $9.30 depending on the exchange rate which was around 8000 most days. bargain. :) bonus: i got it through customs (it's on a wooden frame). all good

a new sugar bowl

i've been after a new sugar bowl for ages. firstly because the old one doesn't have a slot for the spoon. secondly coz the old one is a bit boring. i don't have sugar in tea or coffee and i hardly ever bake with it but the family do so i have to have a sugar bowl. i like pottery and blue is one of my fave colours so when i found this one i thought to myself how perfect. i really like it. no-one has come to visit who has sugar thus far so i haven't had a chance to show it off. what do you think? lol
